Three Things

There are three things you should be aware of.

First, at three minutes and four seconds after 2 AM on May 6th this year, the time and date will be 02:03:04 05/06/07.

This will Never happen again in our lifetime.

Second, Although I forgot to let you know that Ben and Jerry's gave away free ice cream cones all day on Tuesday, April 17, I hope you'll forgive me. Baskin Robins will be celebrating 31 cent cone day on Wednesday, May 2. You should probably go twice.

Third, yesterday was earth day. I hope you celebrated by wearing some green, going for a walk, or looking at the stars. If it rained, maybe you sat on the porch and listened. It's not too late, you should probably do one of things now.

This is the type of information that I think makes life wonderful. The other stuff is alright, but life is so much better when you celebrate moments like this. =)

This weekend was BEAUTIFUL here in Baltimore. We've been stuck under a freezing cold nor' easter for the past few weeks, and this weekend it warmed up to around 80! Although I spent most of Saturday in class, and most of Sunday in meetings, it was still super nice to be able to open a window. I must confess, I intentionally parked really far away from things so I could at least walk outside for a little while. This really wouldn't be something that would require the verb confess, except that it did make me late on multiple occasions which could have been avoided if I had just parked closer....

Overall, it was a pretty calm weekend. I was truly initiated to life in Baltimore City, however. Saturday night my car was broken into. For most people this happens within the first month of living here, so I consider myself quiet lucky that it's taken more than 10 months for this to happen to me. And to say they broke in, really isn't fair, I did accidentally leave my passenger side door unlocked. I didn't think they had gotten much until this morning when I was looking for my ipod. It's a gonner. I wasn't too distraught by this, however, as it hasn't been charging at ALL as of late-I think it was dropped one too many times. Perhaps this summer I'll allocate some funds for a new one. The only other thing they took was a REALLY old cell phone that I only kept because it had some phone numbers I periodically needed. I guess now if I ever need to get my haircut in Utah, or want to know the phone number to Movies 4 I'll actually have to look up the number, rather than just busting out the old broken phone. Wow, those lucky dogs who have access to those valuable digits now. I bet they're excited!

And today could mark one of the more memorable days I've ever had in the Baltimore City Public School System: I'm taking my kids on their first field trip. Hold on, ladies and gentlemen, this could be a real treat. Nothing like taking 40 middle school children out of the building. I hope I don't lose any of them. And I really hope they all come back alive. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the tip about Baskin Robbins. Nothing hits the spot like yummy ice cream.

Another cool thing happening Baltimore on Thursday (April 26) night (if you don't know about it already) is Dining out for Life - you eat out and participating restaurants give part of the proceeds to Movable Feast. More (including participating restaurants) at:
http://www.diningoutforlife.com/home.php?city=13

A good excuse to try some place new (-:
