Organic October

Most of you are already well aware of my love for holidays and themes. Some of you may have also noted the them for September: Adventure September. October is also themed, but not in the way that the name may actually imply. I'm not going to eat only Organic, but rather I might cook a real meal once or twice a week. And to help me along I have a beautiful and simple cookbook Simply Organic. Sarah and I went to the farmers market yesterday to get a few ingredients for this weeks two dishes.

The inspiration has been this: I've stopped cooking. Which has lead to me not eating what I should. It started about a year ago. I don't know if it was TFA, or grad school, or just a combination of everything, (or Sara Alsup moving away from Baltimore...I might just blame it on her), but I stopped doing something I really love. It's not just that I don't cook, but I haven't wanted to cook. Sometimes we have hobbies or things that we love, and we don't do them simply because we don't have time. Not the case here. I stand in the kitchen and the only things that sound good are Rasin Bran and Yogurt, not really a balanced diet.

And so, October is dedicated to this: Cooking (not to be confused with baking). Nothing huge. Nothing fancy. Just a decent meal here and there with some vegetables and maybe a little protein.

I think I might like it.

Now I know where Allie gets it from! Allie wants to know the good recipes so we can experiment with the goodness! Will you post the winning meals so we can try them at home? -Lee-

I support that! Even if I was the cause of the dearth of cooking! Let's see each other very soon.
