We sprinkled all the kids with glitter today and told them it's magic fairy dust that will help them to do better. It's something fun, and for the most part they really like it.
About fifteen minutes into testing today one of my boys who really struggles raised his hand. When I went over to see what was going on, his eyes lit up, and in a really loud whisper said, "It's working, Ms. Passey, it's working! That magic dust is really working!"
What a bright moment, during a very long day.

Why have you been holding out on me?!! I've been writing my dissertation and you don't pull out the magic dust until I'm done? What?!
Sometimes I need some magic dust!
Look, the dust is messy. Glitter EVERYWHERE. I wasn't sure how that would go over with the committee. I'm still not sure how it's going to go over with the folks who read my kids tests.
But, I do still have some, should anyone need it.
wow. you used real glitter! i thought you just did a pretend dust. that is funny.
