40th Annual Monument LIghting

Most cities, if they are going to light anything at all, light a tree to start the holidays.

Not us. Baltimore lights up the Washingon Monument (the FIRST Washington Monument, I might add. Baltimore had one before Washington DC). With the best firework show all year. I've gone every year since I moved here, and loved it every year. We always get a cup of cocoa or wassil from the National Federation for the Blind (a friend used to work for them, and we still like to support) for a $1. Seriously, I'm not sure how they make any money. They give you at least 21 oz....for one dollar?!

Some years it's been bitterly cold. I won't lie, Andrew and I probably over dressed this year. It was much closer to 55. But it feels so much more like Christmas if you are wearing a green hat with a poof ball on top. :)

It looks so much more like Christmas, too, with your green hat :) I love wassail! I'm going to have to introduce it to the girls this year.

So fun! Glad you have not missed one yet. And by what you are wearing I would have mistaken it for much colder, but better to be safe then sorry.
