Today in the fourth grade we started our social studies unit that starts out by learning about community, moves into government, and culminates around the election. Today we designed our own town and talked about what our town would be like without rules.
After creating scenarios where there were no rules, we then talked about why rules are important and the kids wrote down one rule they thought we should have.
Every kid wrote down that we shouldn't kill/shoot people.
It's very telling of their lives.
